Andrew Nutbrown is an Associate Attorney at KJMLAW Partners.  He primarily handles trust administration and estate planning, with a focus on developing comprehensive estate plans for high-net worth individuals with both domestic and international property interests.  Andrew also prepares estate and gift tax returns and assists with trust litigation matters, specifically related to elder abuse and the misappropriation of trust funds.  As a licensed attorney in both California and Canada, Andrew is committed to ensuring his clients maintain comprehensive estate plans that minimize international and American tax liabilities.

Prior to joining the firm, Andrew worked as an Associate at Doyle Prendergast, where he focused mainly on wills and estates, real estate and corporate law in his hometown of Aylmer, Ontario, Canada.  Andrew also has experience representing greenhouse developers related to issues involving the agribusiness sector supporting southern Ontario’s burgeoning greenhouse industry.

Andrew’s legal career began during his studies at University of Western Ontario Law School, where he acted as a student supervisor for Community Legal Services, the student-run legal clinic at the university, and the coordinator for the Small Claims Court Project, a pro bono program aimed at assisting unrepresented litigants in civil litigation matters.  During law school, Andrew conducted both criminal and civil litigation trials, as well as actively maintained files in landlord tenant, family law, and human rights matters.

Andrew continues to remain committed to community service through his pro bono work at the Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County.

Andrew earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Philosophy at Huron University College and a Juris Doctor at the University of Western Ontario.

Outside of practicing law, Andrew enjoys mountain hiking, surfing, jiu jitsu, and playing various musical instruments.
