(PASADENA, CA) – KJMLAW Partners, PLC founder Kevin J. Moore, earned a Certificate of Specialization in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the State Bar of California in April 2025. Moore has over 30 years’ experience as an estate planning, trust and probate attorney. In addition to his juris doctorate, he holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Taxation and Business.

According to the State Bar of California website, the Legal Specialization program “provides a method for attorneys to earn the designation of certified specialist in particular areas of law, increasing public protection and encouraging attorney competence.”

Moore’s pursuit of a specialization certificate reflects his ongoing commitment to the law, its nuances and his practice for the benefit of his clients. “Keeping up with the current state of tax, trust and probate law allows me to better serve the needs of my clients,” Moore stated. “The certified specialist program is a useful way to assure my clients and colleagues that I take my responsibility as a legal authority in their lives seriously.”

The process to become certified in a specialty of law from the State Bar of California includes passing a written examination, the continuous (or at least 25% of legal work) practice of that specialty area of law in California for at least five years, pursuing continuing education in the specialty area beyond general licensees from the State Bar, and receiving favorable evaluations from other attorneys and judges familiar with the attorney in question’s work in the specialty area of law.
