Debby Doitch: Fighting For Her Clients

Litigation Attorney Debby Doitch is passionate about helping clients involved in law suits.

Born in South Africa, Debby’s family moved to Santa Clarita, California when she was in the seventh grade.  She attended Valencia high school there before enrolling at California State Northridge and began pursuing her psychology degree.  After graduation, Debby worked with special needs children as a behavior intervention specialist for two years. After contemplation as to which career path to pursue and always a hard worker, Debby enrolled at Western State University School of Law while also taking on a position as a part time care giver for a family with a special needs child.

During law school, Debby was drawn to working with clients who needed a strong advocate.  She volunteered with the Children’s Rights Project run by Public Counsel, the largest pro bono law firm in the nation.  Debby also participated in the Guardianship Clinic run by Public Counsel at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles. The Clinic provided Debby an introduction to probate and the opportunity to prepare petitions for guardianship of the person and/or estate on behalf of in pro per litigants, assist them with filing and service of the petitions and clearing of probate notes in preparation for their hearings, and to observe probate hearings. In addition, as part of Disability Rights California, she spent a summer during law school as a Clients Rights Advocate fighting for the rights of disabled children through The Office of Clients’ Rights Advocacy (OCRA). In her final semester of law school, Debby participated in the family law clinic run by Western State, which provided Debby the opportunity to represent clients, and advocate on their behalf divorce, child custody, and child support matters at the Lamoreaux Justice Center in Orange County.

Debby graduated law school and passed the bar in 2009.  She then joined the Kevin J. Moore & Associates as an entry level associate.  Today, as a senior associate, Debby fights on behalf of clients involved in a variety of litigated disputes such as probate, bankruptcy, family law, as well as business and real estate litigation including property tax assessment matters.  Her family law expertise includes international child abduction cases.  In fact, as a result of such expertise, Debby was invited to join the Hague Convention Attorney Network and is registered on a list maintained by the U.S. Department of State of lawyers who have experience in such disputes where one parent takes a child out of their home country without the other parent’s consent.

Every client benefits from Debby’s determination to right wrongs while providing calm and security at a frequently volatile time in their lives.  She is a fierce advocate for her clients but doesn’t fight for the sake of fighting.  Her gifts for managing potentially chaotic situations with grace and ease helps clients more clearly understand their legal options and make good decisions in trying times.

Kevin Moore, Founder of Kevin J. Moore & Associates, is focused in the areas of estate planning, trusts and probate services with additional expertise in both domestic and international business transactions and tax planning and tax controversy representation for individuals and companies.
